Partners in Conservation
We collected $270, plus
donated  48 packages of seeds
and 25 pairs of gardening
gloves to Rwanda in 2020.
Westerville Garden Club

Autumn ArborFest
This new Westerville Parks and Recreation Department community event is held in September at Alum Creek Park North.  This family event is
dedicated to trees. Our garden club provides hands-on children's activities with objects from nature and trees.

Community Education
Our garden club  gardening or environmental classes at the Westerville Community Center.   These classes for the community are either free
or have a small fee.

Garden Therapy
We provide garden related activities at a local elderly care facility.

National Garden Week
Our Westerville Garden Club joins the National Garden Club and Garden Club of Ohio in observing National Garden Week the first full week
in June.  We encourage pride in our community and the importance of gardening.

Party at the Creek
This Westerville Parks and Recreation Department community event is held the fourth Thursday in May at Alum Creek Park,  Our garden club
provides hands-on children's activities with objects from nature or recycled materials to encourage the importance of green practices and an
appreciation of nature.

Plant Sale
On the day before Mother's Day in May we hold an annual plant sale in Uptown Westerville.  All types of garden plants and garden-related
items are sold.  Our own grown member plants and hand-made hypertufa planters are popular items.

Rain Barrel Seminar
Our garden club participates in this yearly event  along with other conservation and green-themed groups.

Recycling
We coordinate recycling at our meetings and events; educate about recycling and inform of local opportunities for recycling and ecological
disposal.

Seed Library at the Westerville Public Library.  Our garden club participates in the Seed Swap Day and offers presentations to the public
on garden topics.

Other Services we Provide
Donations to the following:  Friends of the Governor's Residence, Garden Club of Ohio Scholarship Fund, Hanby House Historical Site,
Inniswood Garden Society, Nature Conservancy of Ohio, Partners in Conservation "Seeds of Friendship" for Rwanda, U.S. Forest Service
"Penny Pines" Program and Westerville Public Library.
